The mission of the Joan Macy School is to provide a safe and enriched environment where students can develop academic, social and vocational skills that will enable them to transition independently and successfully into the community.
Joan Macy School is a certified non-public school recognized by the California Department of Education to provide services for grades 1-12 in Special Education, Behavior Intervention, Counseling & Guidance, and also Language/Speech Development in accordance with each student's Individualized Educational Plan.
What We Do
Joan Macy School works with children and adolescents whose needs and problems can be quite complex. Our students may have been identified as displaying emotionally difficulties, having a learning disability, or displaying maladaptive behavior. Many have anxiety, hyperactivity, impulse control disorders, an array of emotional difficulties, auditory and visual processing delays and behavior disorders.
